Drawings in Dialogue celebrates Dorothy Braude Edinburg's strong relationship with the Art Institute of Chicago's renowned Department of Prints and Drawings, featuring 166 of the nearly 250 drawings the collector is giving to the museum.
The works are presented in three chronological sections, each with a brief introduction: Renaissance to Romanticism, Realism to Symbolism, and Modernism. Particularly strong is the group of early twentieth-century drawings by such notables as Kandinsky, Klee, Matisse, Miro and Picasso. An introduction by curator Suzanne Folds McCullagh traces the collection's history, provides an overview of its importance, and details its relationship to the museum's holdings.
Hardcover; 224 pages with 166 color illustrations. 10" x 12 1/4" x 1".
