Jeff Wall

Over the past three decades, artist Jeff Wall's (Canadian, b. 1946) large color transparencies have won international acclaim.  Epic and luminous, his work has overturned nealry every convention of photography.  Wall has created a unique, seductive and complex pictorial universe by drawing upon philosophy, literature, nineteenth-century painting, Neo-Realist cinema and the traditions of both Conceptual art and documentary photography. This exhibition catalogue, which accompanies Wall's 2007 traveling American retrospective, includes an illuminating essay by Peter Galassi and a thoughtful interview with the artist by Art Institute curator James Rondeau.

Hardcover; 168 pages with 80 color and 18 duotone illustrations.  10" x 11 1/4" x 5/8".
