"Looking at the picture ought to rest the brain, or rather the imagination," Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890) wrote to his brother Theo before painting this bedroom scene. The painting was part of a decorating scheme for his new house in Arles, which van Gogh dubbed "The Studio of the South" with the hope that friends and artists would join him there in the south of France. The original work is in the collection of the museum. Our framed reproduction is 17 1/2" x 20 1/2".
